Quick Summary of my Previous Article on “HIV Inserts in SARS-CoV-2”

After feedback from readers I decided to write a short numbered summary of my first substack article on COVID-19. I hope this helps:

1.     A preprint from India by Pradhan et al. reported on the anomalous presence of four HIV amino acid sequences/inserts on the spike protein of SARS-CoV-2.

2.     The preprint was mysteriously withdrawn from bioRxiv only three days after it was posted.

3.     My own analysis via the NIH database showed that none of these inserts occur in SARS viruses entered into the database prior to 2020.

4.     Similar sequences do occur on a handful of pre-2020 strains of SARS, but two out of three of these “homologies” occur outside the spike. Sequences outside the spike are less relevant because they do not interact with receptors on the cell surface.

5.     All inserts occur on portions of the spike directly involved in binding to the receptors on the target cell.

6.     The first three inserts correspond to portions of the HIV envelope glycoprotein Gp120. This protein facilitates penetration of the blood/brain barrier and infection of T-cells by HIV.

7.     Just like HIV, SARS-CoV-2 also crosses the blood/brain barrier and infects T-cells.

8.     The fourth insert identified by Pradhan et al. includes a sequence with homology to staph enterotoxin B, a documented bioweapon. This “super-antigenic” sequence may play a key role in the cytokine storm that occurs during terminal stages of COVID-19.

9.     The fourth insert identified by Pradhan et al. also includes a furin cleavage site.

10.  Cutting the spike at the FCS enables fusion of viral and cell membranes.

11.  A 43-page proposal from the non-profit Ecohealth Alliance discusses the insertion of furin cleavage sites into bat coronaviruses to assess their ability to infect mice that were genetically modified for susceptibility to human coronaviruses.

12.  The same document discusses insertion of other sequences into the spike to assess their ability to bind to DC-SIGN.

13.  DC-SIGN is a receptor on cell surfaces that permits HIV to evade immune surveillance. The HIV protein that binds to DC-SIGN is Gp120.

14.  Just like HIV, SARS-CoV-2 also binds to DC-SIGN.

15.  Anthony Fauci approved of this controversial proposal even though it had been rejected by DARPA.

16.  A few days after the proposal was made public, NIH grudgingly admitted to funding this gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. A few days later NIH director Francis Collins announced his “retirement” from NIH.

17.  Early in the pandemic, Francis Collins had sent an email to Anthony Fauci expressing concern over what he referred to as a “very destructive (lab leak) conspiracy.”
